Interpreting Services

The survey aims to find out the current situation about how deaf BSL signers in Wales are accessing health services provided by the NHS.

We are seeking to find out what is working well and what is not working so well.

We are asking lots of deaf signers to tell us about their recent experiences.

Dialects Survey

We are studying the ways in which BSL varies throughout Wales.

Everybody with at least an intermediate level of BSL is welcome to participate.

In this survey, you’ll be asked to answer questions about the signs you use for 15 words.

Deaf Identity Stories

The project aims to explore how deaf BSL signers understand and describe their experiences of being deaf.

We want to find out what being deaf means to different people, what shapes their identity, and how they see themselves within deaf communities and cultures.

Old Welsh Signs Survey

We are keen to capture old Welsh signs that have perhaps fallen into disuse or are not used as often any more.

We know that Welsh BSL has a strong history in Wales and want to archive these for future generations.

Mental Health Survey
