Join Deaf Health Wales for a free Deaf Awareness workshop designed specifically for people working in the outdoor sector.
Led by Paul Redfern, the session will explore deaf awareness and practical ways to make outdoor activities and services more accessible and inclusive for deaf people.
The workshop will take place at Plas Menai National Outdoor Centre in Caernarfon.
Who is this for?
This workshop is for people working or volunteering in the outdoor sector, including instructors, activity providers, outdoor centres and organisations interested in improving access to the outdoors for deaf people.
No previous knowledge is required.
What will the workshop cover?
The session will introduce key aspects of deaf awareness and consider practical approaches to communication, access and inclusion within outdoor settings.
There will also be opportunities to ask questions and discuss experiences from your own work.
Accessibility
The session will be delivered in BSL and BSL-English interpreters will be provided.
