Ethics & Your Rights

BSL

Deaf Health Wales is committed to carrying out research that is fair, respectful and responsible. All of our studies follow strict ethical standards and have been approved by Bangor University’s Research Ethics Committee.

This means:

  • Participation is always voluntary.
  • You will be given clear information before you take part.
  • You can withdraw at any time.
  • Your information will be stored securely and kept confidential.
  • Your choices about how your data is used will always be respected.
Three levels of involvement

Each project activity is labelled with a level. This tells you what is involved and what consent is needed.

If you have any questions, contact the project team in BSL, Welsh or English via our contact page.

Questions or concerns?

If you have any questions about taking part, you can contact our Principal Investigator, Dr Christopher Shank, in English, Welsh or BSL at c.shank@bangor.ac.uk

If you have a concern that we cannot resolve, you can also contact the University Ethics Committee at cahssethics@bangor.ac.uk

You can read Bangor University’s full Code of Practice on Research Quality and Ethics for more details.
